HELP, pyramid snails on max

My maxima unattached from the rock work, so I picked him up and there where 6-7 pyramid snails around the bysal gland. I pick off what I could, they where also inbeded in the gland. Will a fresh water dip help, if not what can I do. He hasent been opening fully latly ( guess that is the problem).

From what I've read about pyramid snails are that you need to do this nightly and pick off as many snails as you can, take the clam out and scrub the shell with a toothbrush to get at the egg masses and worse scenerio, some have had to rid their sandbed.
I would also consider purchasing a known pyramid snail eater to help control the snails. They won't eliminate the snails but will "help control" them.
