Help setting up 9004 in All in one tank

Hi Rogger, I just recently purchased a JBJ 45rl and a 9004 to skim the tank. I will be placing the skimmer in the center sump compartment and as with all sumps, I know that I will need to add an ATO which I have an osmolator for this purpose.
My question is, since this skimmer is a surface skimmer(and my 1st surface skimmer by the way), could I use both the lens and stop switch on the same magnet or should I use each on an individual magnet to keep the water level as consistent as possible.

While I know many use them both on the same magnet I wonder if the distance between the lens and switch would cause interference with the skimmer production.

Thank you for your response.

By the way, I have an older 6055 which now has very weak flow. Would I be better off buying a new motor and using the rest or just buying a brand new one? :blown:

Thank you again.

The float is just an emergency back up, you generally want it as close to the optic sensor as possible just in case the optic sensor failed. The optic sensor is what will maintain the water level and that level is marked on the magnet holder as to where it will be kept (wavy line on the optic sensor mount).

In general we can repair a 6055 for less than half of what a new one would cost, it could just be that the voltage is turned down, the power supply is variable voltage and needs to be set to 24V to get full power. It may also be that half of the motor is dead, in that case a new motor is about 40% of what a complete pump costs and probably a better option.

Thank you Roger, I checked the pump and found that for whatever reason, it was on 12v's. I switched it over to 24v's and it started cranking out as new.
