Help setting up an ATO system

Hey everyone,

I want to setup an ATO system, never have before, and would like to get some advice on what I need, besides a small tank, to get things set up. Dont want to spend too much, but I am open to all suggestions. Also, if you know where I can buy the items I will need. I have a 90 Gallon system with a 20G L as a refugium. Thanks in advance for everyones advice.

autotopoff.com is IMO the simplest and easiest way to go. i am sure a few others will also chime in and agree. they will sell you everything you need for about 80 bucks or so.

or instead of using one of their pumps you could just use a maxijet and rig it like i did


if you can wait awhile maybe a a month or 2 we will have one for sale.

I love my jbj autotopoff unit. It's a little more then autotopoff.com retail, but love it. I got lucky and got mine cheap used.

Hey Emilio. Everything is good, hope all is well with you. Thanks for the info. I believe I can wait till yours is for sale, just wanted to get some information as to how much it would cost to set one up and what I would need.

Thanks for everyone elses comments, the setup at autotopoff is inexpensive. I will look at the jbj autotopoff and compare.

i even have a spare 10g tank too..

basically..... a reservoir for the R/O, the float switches (in my first link), and a pump and you have an ATO

keep looking, compare, if you find yourself in a rush for it let me know if you need the tank....
