Help, sick mushroom?

Have this blue green mushroom, always the first to expand, was very healthy, now it is not expanding and I notice these brown spots on it. At first I thought it was dividing and another mourth forming, then I thought it may be a brown flat worm so I removed it, very easily as a matter of fact, from the mushroom, and what remained was a white spot, sort of like the white stuff when a mushroom is disturbed and throws out its guts but smaller. It wasn't a flat worm. Then another brown spot appeared and again I removed it and again a white spot was in its place. What's going on? Anyone every see this phenomena?

I don't think it's brown jelly disease from a picture I saw, it is a dark brown and clearly defined small circle or oval. Brown jelly disease looks more like a light brown jelly on the surface of the coral.

Thanks in advance.

Do the brown spots have a pale white line running through them? On my green striped mushrooms I have many brown worm like organisms with a white line running down their backs. They move and crawl slowly all over the face of the coral. They don't seem to disturb it in any way or have any adverse affects to the coral or the tank for that matter. I'm not sure of the actual name of these organisms...i'm sure someone else will reply with better info...I just tried carefully removing one of the "worms" and a white spot was there....interesting, never thought of removing them before...the white spot didn't looks like white waste as you described yours as though...so if this is a problem than you and I are in the same boat. This has been occuring in my tank for over a year however and nothing bad has happened and I doubt will because of it. I'm sure someone else has better info for you though...just letting you know

definately not a worm. I am thinking infection. They are very clearly defined dark brown spots. I think he's a gonner if I don't do something quick.

So the next question is, there is part of it that is looking fine. I was thinking about doing surgery and hopefully he will regenerate back.

Any ideas on this option?

I think that may work...take the healthiest looking sections and try growing them in a quaranteen tank or in a section of your display opposite of where the shrooms are sitting now. Sorry I couldn't be more help on your first post...
