HELP..... taping sump

Hey folks !!!
I am just about ready to tape off my sump tank with painter's tape so I can silicone (#1 type) the baffles.
My questions is:
After I have laid the silicone in the corners of the baffles and pressed it into place, at what point do I begin to remove the tape? Is it immediately prior to drying or after the silicone has set up?

while its still a little soft but to not wet, dont wait until its set up
