My yellow tang just developed Ich this morning and he just went into my fish trap that i was getting ready for my clowns,
so can i keep him in a 10 gal for treatment, it's the only tank I have nothing else, no trash can/rubbermaid nothing, period.
How well do you think he will do in 10 gallon QT.

Either I let him go or put him in QT.
my tank is FOWLR so treating the main tank is out.
My tang is about 3"

PLEASE ANSWER ASAP....

Put him in the 10g and start treating. If it starts getting really stressed try and get a large tub, or tote, or even a new garbage can, and move it to that. Getting him out of the display probably wont be that easy a second time around.

Thanks, I'm moving him now, trying to cut on stress by doing this the whole time with light from another room.
If I can I "try" to get larger container tomorrow.

Also put some large pieces of rock in the quarentine tank for it to hide and feel safer. If you will treat with cupramine do not use rock but put some pieces of 3 to 4" PVC pipe or whatever you can find for him to hide.

My pvc pieces are not as big so he can completly hide behind, if I put a piece of live rock in QT tank (Yes, I know it can never go into my tank again)
Do I it give the rock a freshwater dip?? or just put it straight in.

Thanks

Just go stright in but are you sure you want to sacrifice such expensive rock to copper? Can you get a small clay pot or something similar?
