I have searched around the sites but nothing has given me conclusive ID on a mantis. They seem to come in many different colors. This possible manit is brown with specs of blue. He is about 2-3" in length and about 1" in dia. He has preying manits eyes and two front retracted arms. Every once in a while I hear a clicking noise from my tank. I just started the tank with FL. Live rock and waiting for the tank to cycle seems to be taking a while.
1) Does this description sound like a mantis?
2) Would it survive being it was part of the first live batch of live rock in the tank?

I also put a piece of shirmp in the tank, but it hasn't been touched?
