HELP, What is This??

Ok, I know I'm going to sound like a newbie but, what is this?? I found it on my overflow filter?? Is it bad?? What does it Eat?? Can i Keep it??

It's an Amphipod. A detritus eating good guy.

Hopefully your rock is full of them... check your tank at night and youll see a ton of them. Throw them back in the water when you find em in your filter and watch your fish go crazy.

Amphipods and copepods are the sustaining force of our reef aquariums. Be glad you found it...

Cool, thanks so much, I literally cleaned my filter pad in my tank and about a hundred of them fell out...the fish were all over them.

Marine Ivertebrates by Shimek page 232 gammaridean amphipods aka scuds, side shrimp or gammarus shrimp..."they are good fish food"
