First of all right now i have a 150w Mh 14k with 2x24w t5's
with 10g sump/refug

i have sps at the top and lps everywhere else...

first question im asking... is would it really benefit my tank if i got a 250w MH or would that not go welll with the lps and stuff

my next question is would it totally improve my tank big time if i purchased a skimmer even though im doin weekly water changes and stuff..

my last question is when i was a newbie and setting up my tank i bought an emperor 280 ... i took the blue pad out and stuff but i use it to whole my phosphate sponge and carbon when i need to

can i put the phostphate thing like in the back of my overflow box or somewhere in my sump soo i can take my emp 280 out because it takes up alot of space and looks badd...

sory for all the questions.. any help would be aweosme

i have a corallife super skimmer 65 on my 29 gallon and i am happy with it. I planned on doing the same lighting setup as you, how do you like it?

im worried about heat with a 250w MH

If you're going to be keeping corals definitely go with the skimmer. Get one that is rated for a higher tank.

Your lights are probably fine for almost anything you'd put in there, as long as you are keeping the heat down ;).

I have a 250W pendant over my 20H and didnt have any problems with LPS. I even had a 400W MH over it at one point, i just had to raise it up higher.

I have the CSS65 on mine and it works great. I still do water changes but only about 25% once a month.

hotrod--does the stuff that ur skimmer hangs on in ur tank look bad or not really
have u had any problems with micro bubbles with ur skimmer

and is ur css 65 loud at all?

It all depends on where it is placed on the tank. I find if i place it on the side of the tank it takes up less viewable space. I bought mine used and i didnt have a bubble trap so i cant give too much info on that part. Since mine doesnt have a bubble trap i played around with my flow directions and found a way to keep the micro bublles in one corner for the most part.

I personally dont think it is loud, i have it in my bedroom. I can sleep through almost anything though.

easye, i am currently skimmerless, and have 0 nitrates, just a nice HOB fuge, adn lots of flow in my 29

of course i am currently fishless, but even before my heat crash i had zero nitrates with no skimmer

i am looking into a Css 65, but just weekly water changes and lots of cheato does wonders

i keep my fish bioload small, and get more corals ;)

floyd, how big is your fuge?? Where'd you get it? I'm thinking about replacing my filter with a modified aquaclear filter as a fuge.

Yeah, I have a bio-wheel now. But I don't know how much space I'll need for the aqua clear. Space behind my tank is limited. Any out there know how much space is need behind the tank for an aqua clear?

im not sure, the fuge is a HOB, i got it for 45 in my reef club

i think its 3.9 gallons, i have 10 LBS or aragonite,in a pretty DSB in there

lots of rubble and a light over it

the pump is a mini jet 404, so pretty low flow, im up grading to a MJ 900 soon, but i might have to drill out a bigger hole, its only like 1/2 inch, so i cant get alot of flow, but its workin
