Help with 6100

Hi Tunze,

One of the alarms was going off on one of my 6100's so I was cleaning them up. After they were cleaned up, I plugged them back in and gave them a test run. The alarm started back up after just a little bit on one of the 6100's again. I pulled it apart and noticed that there was a "wrinkle" in the motor block where the driveshaft sits. Knowing that this was going to be difficult to explain, I took a few pictures.

You can see the ridge or the "wrinkle" pretty well here:

Same pump other side - no problems:

My second 6100 - no problem:

Side-by-side - one with the "wrinkle" is on the right:

Can you help me please?

Thanks,

Hello Z, from the picture look like your motor block is melting. You will need to send the pump in for replacement part if it still under warranty. If not, you can always replace it yourself by purchase the motor block online with tunze.com. Your part number is 6100.015 $92.00

Should still be under warranty. Do I just send it to the TX address? What other instructions do I need to know?

Please send it in for replacement. Our address is

Tunze USA
305 Victor St
Austin TX 78753

Also include a note with your return address. Once we receive the pump the tun around is only a day so you will not be without your 6100 to long.

Great. Thanks Rodney and Steve. I'll send the pump this afternoon.

Do you want me to send just the motor block and driver or should I include the entire assembled pump?

The 6100 has been shipped via UPS.

Thanks again for your help. Look forward to having the pump function normally again!
