Help with a rescue effort

I needed a 'shelf' to put a couple of frags on so I bought one from my local saltwater tank store. It was in a tank where he kept his live rock and it just so happened to have an awesome bright green mushroom hitchhiking on it. When I put it in my tank I notice 2 pretty orange zoanthids open up too. I though great!
Unfortunately my luck ran out when about a month after placing it in my tank the shelf exploded with green hair algae and now a big patch of red is growing on it to (i can only assume this is red cyanobacteria).
I need to get this thing out of my tank because green hair algae is popping up on some of my rocks. I would really like to save what's on it if possible but I don't know how to remove them. Any advise would be appreciated.

What is the "shelf" made out of? If it is rock then you can cut the rock underneath the zoas and mushrooms so they are still anchored to a little piece and then super glue this to a frag plug.

Are your nitrates or phosphates high? That is a bummer that the green hair algae came from another tank but it is your tank that is feeding them so try to outcompete the algae for nutrients by using a reactor, water changes, or a refugium.

Breaking the piece of rock with the mushroom and zoanthids on won't work. The green hair algae is ALL over this rock. I think the only way would be to get them to detach and have them reattach to a clean rock. I'm really bummed about this. My nitrate is high, it was 40ppm at one point but we have been working really hard to get it down with regular water changes. Its at 10ppm now. We are about to add a sump too which will hopefully help control the levels in the tank too. It's an ongoing battle. Do you know how I can get them to detach without damaging them?
