Help with a toadstool leather coral

I have a toadstool leather coral which I bought a month ago on a plug. Over the past week or so, the base has turned a white color from pinkish, and is unable to stand up (it was stnding upright by itself until yesterday). I think the base is dead. Should I cut the dead part off and reattach it to another plug, or do something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I will bumb this for you since nobody responded. Sorry I can not help you But I am relatively n ew to toadstools and have not experienced what yours is going through.
The bleaching of the base does not sound good.

A Picture and water parameters would be very helpful.

It may just need a water change or more flow.

It ended up falling off the plug by itself, and I just loosley elasticed it to a piece of the live rock, and it seems to be happy, its fully extended, and the bleaching seems to be going away, except for the very end of the base. Im thinking that it may have been the glue that was used to attach it to the plug.

Parameters are 1.024 nitrite 0, nitrate near, temp 80, Ca 450

I didn't even think of that but you're probably right about the glue. The good news is that they generally frag pretty well so it should be fine now that it's off the plug.

In my experience leather tissue dies were it contacts the glue. I use just a tiny dab now to hold it on the rock and let the leather do the rest. Larger amounts of glue caused the leathers to die off and detach.
