Help with a UV unit leaking

I just got a 40 watt Gamma UV Sterlizer and I hooked it up and glued in the slips but it is still leaking, is there anything that I can use to stop the leaking? It is leaking where the 2" slips are glued in, can I use silicone do you think that will hold? I am at a loss because when I glued them in I pushed them in as hard as I could so I am not sure why it is leaking. Any suggestions on how to stop the leaks?

I would say try to remove the bushings you glued in. If you can't you might be able to smear some the heavy bodied glue, like the rain or shine, or red hot glues into the seam to seal it up.
