Help with adding an additional clown

I currently have a female clown that has been in my tank for about four months, and am looking to add a smaller male/sexless clown. I just wanted to hear from a few people on RC that are experienced with this. Success and failure stories are welcome/appreciated. I have heard....

1.) Catch the female in a strawberry crate and let the new guy wander around the tank before releasing her.
2.) Catch the female and put her in the bag with the male, so that they bond under distress.
3.) Put the male in the strawberry crate and let the female show him who's boss while protected by the plastic crate.

What are the thoughts on RC...I know it's probably been discussed before, but I want to make sure that I am doing all that is necessary to be successful...my LFS is pretty confident that the female with kill the male/sexless, which worries me. Thanks for the help!

I've had a female in my tank for a couple of months and added 2 smaller clowns, fighting has not been an issue... I just acc as I normally would and add them to the tank after a few minutes they start doing their thing and are OK after that but I've had bad luck with the new clowns and they wont eat... Im gonna try again soon..

Thanks for your input. The clown I am getting already has a QT waiting for it that I have been cycling for about two weeks. (no sand, just a bit of live rock and ghost feeding) Hopefully in the QT I can get the new guy to eat and fatten him up a bit before he has to go through a final stress test into my DT. Anyone with long term success?
