Help with anemone

Hi all.

First I need to identify it.

I also need some help with it. At the moment it's in a quarantine tank. The tank is composed of water from the main tank, a couple of seasoned sponges from the DT sump and some live rock. I also added bacteria in a bottle to instantly cycle despite not having ammonia.

Now the problem is they the anemone it's not settled and it's not accepting food. The pictures are when I put a piece of fish in the mouth, it just detached and starting floating again.

I'm starting to see some deflated tentacles and I don't want to transfer it to the DT because I know there was ich in the tank it was at the LFS.

All Params are within range.

Any advice are welcome.

I could be wrong, but it looks like a bleached long tentacle anemone to me. Does it have a pinkish-redish foot? Any damage to the foot at all? I would get it into your DT pretty soon where I assume theres more adequate lighting for it. Seeing as how ich needs a fish host to be carried into your DT, I wouldn't be too worried about that. Do you have any medication to do a dip with?

Yes it does have a red foot. The lighting is that aquarium it's strong I think, the tank it's a coralife biocube.

Oh got ya. So it's the newer one with the LEDs. I didn't have much luck an LTA under the stock lighting, but it could have just been the anemone. I would get it in your DT and give it time. They usually won't eat for the first week. I ended up upgrading my lights to Steve's LEDs and highly recommend checking them out for your 16.

If after two or three days he still isn't anchoring his foot and settling in, I would take him back and try going with a Bubble Tip Anemone instead (that's what I did and mine is doing really well)

Looks like a condylactis.. high lighting med flow requirement. It does move around. Does not host clowns. Should be supplemented with feeding, try a small piece of shrimp. May not eat until it gets comfy.

Well it's not eating at the moment. It looks inflated in the night and back to normal in, the day. I can see some deflated tentacles but they are sticky.

About putting it in DT. I really don't want to risk it, as I said the LFS just moved to another location and you could see fish struggling, sick, I decided to take the anemone because I have a QT tank to keep it in the mean time while the life cycle of ick or velvet passes. I don't want to take any risk. I already had a Wipeout in the past.

So I want to make sure what type of anemone is so I can start taking care of it.

Hello all. Update. Im seeing more pinched tentacles in the anemone. Could it be the hermit crab that it's in there with it?

If I have to take it out. I have no place where to put it since Ilit can't be back to the display tank.

Return it to the LFS & ask for a refund. Then try to find a better store in your area. Research what type of anemone you plan to add to your tank in the future, so that you'll be able to spot a healthy specimen vs something that shouldn't even be offered for sale.
 
It is a long tentacle and it's almost completely bleached, but not completely. Here is what I would try.
1) moderate, indirect flow; my lta "established" his self right under my return where he gets some flow but not a ton.

2) help him get anchored (lta's require (not need buy require) sand.

3) get him anchored; I had a problem with that and will link my help post here.

4) when he starts accepting food, feed him bi-daily. The reason I am saying so often in because he's missing a lot of his zoanthalia(?)

Sadly the anemone died. I had to throw it today. All the tentacles were pinched. I tried to feed it, but that would stress it out.
