Help with bubble tip anemone

So i have purchased this bta yesterday. Around his mouth he has white chunks around his mouth that become detached. Ive read on other post to be concerned when its a white stringy discharge but i cant find anything about white chunks. Tried to feed him a siverside as well as krill he wasnt interested in eating. He's also not as expanded a he was yesterday. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Seems a little bit bleached out to me, keep it well lit and try to feed it again, maybe something smaller like mysis.

Is it sticky to the touch?

No he still has not been eating i Have tried krill a couple more time with no success. A couple of his tips have a white dots on the tips now and his fingers are not sticky. On the plus side he hasnt had any of the white chunks come loose and his mouth is closed. He seems to be hiding between rocks in a small cave and hasnt moved anywhere for more light. What can i do to get him to eat?

Yes, I fed the guy more often, and changed to reef breeders leds, the guy started lengthening his fingers and browning up. He got massive, but then suddenly disappeared in my tank. I'm assuming he died and I am incredibly fortunate he didn't crash my tank!

Thought the same thing about mine, It went missing for about four week and thought he was dead and then here he comes from the back side of a rock that I could not see.

I'm surprised this thread wasn't moved yet. Try asking in the "Anemone and clownfish" threads in marine fish forums. They might know more.

All BTA I got were not sticky, disappeared, and slowly melted under a rock. They're also not very strong toxin wise so they really won't nuke your tank if something bad does happen unlike other nems.

How big, and how old is your tank?

IMO an anemone shouldn't be kept in anything below 30 gallons and atleast 6 months established to reduce risk of water quality swings.

Thankfully bta I heard is the most forgiving in that it wouldn't damage your tank and they're hardy.. they just hate me
