Help with bubbles and evaporation

I have just set up a new tank. Its a 28 gallon tank so i am trying to keep avaporation down so i dont have to top it off every single day. At this point an ATO is out of the question, i dont have space for extra water and still be astheticly pleasing.

I am getting alot of bubbles from my drain line. the bubbles arent getting back in the display or anything, they are just coming to the surface and popping causing excessive avaporation. How can i change my plumbing to cut down in the bubbles. Also dont want to go the filter sock route.

Here are some pics, i can get some better ones if needed. The pics dont show i have a piece of acrylic above where the bubbles are to keep them from causing a bunch of salt creep

you should top up daily so your salenity doesn't swing too much. Any reason why you don't want to use a filter sock? You could slow down your return pump so less flow is entering the sump, could add some bends to slow it down as well

i dont mind topping off daily, i just dont want to HAVE too incase i am out of town for a weekend. I dont want the pump to run dry. And as for the filter sock i dont know, just never used them before, i know there is a way i can fix these with plumbing.

your sump looks too full. what if the electricity goes out and the tank shuts off. Is there enough room for overflow?

Just a though, but maybe you could put a "U" at the bottom of the drain pipe. If the pipe is wide enough, the bubbles would pop in the tube and float up the down side, not the out side.

when i took the pic i was leak testing the tank. In that pic is the max level to run with out a problem with a power outage, so there is enough room in this pic but i could not run any higher.
