Help with Canisters

I am running two canister filters on my 100 gallon tank. I have read that you can plumb multiple canisters together and was wondering if it is better to or just something you can do to save space? Would it really be useful with only two? Any advice would be appreciated.

Are you using the cannisters for filtration. Do you have a reef or a FOWLR.

Plumbing multiple cannisters? I occasionally use a cannister for running carbon, but to use multiple cannisters as your main filtration would require so much work to stay ontop of cleaning all those filter pads.

I have never heard of plumbing multiple canisters together with the exception of the Lifeguard series, where there are modules. But I have never heard of combining multiple XP's or Fluvals in series. I think that it would be impossible to match flow rates...

What would be the point anyway, just get one big one...
