help with css 65

i just got the coralife super skimmer and am having problems getting it adjusted correctly. the collection cup either skims too wet or not enough. ive attached some pics, do i have it right? i cant seem to get the water level where id like it..... thanks in advance.

You probably just need to give it some time, possibly several days. New skimmers nearly always take time to break in.

Make small adjustments every few hours.

i have the same one, i woudl suggest making sure that the water level at least covers the knob above the pump the one which you can adjust the flow into the skimmer, and maks sure that knob is also set to toatlly open, then jsut let it run really wet for a while and jsut dump the water back into the tank, wont hurt anything and then adjust the red knob to skim complelty dry turn it all the way!> see if that works thats what i had to do and now it pulls pretty dang good

Is this a relatively new tank? You might not have the bioload to produce consistent foam yet. Set the flow wide open and the red knob to half way. Start there and then make very slight turns on the red knob every few hours to dial it in. It'll take time, but you'll be happy once it's set.

keep the water level in the skimmer how it is in the pics and give it time, mine was like that for a bit to

I would lower the water level an inch or two lower into the neck. Way too high.

the tank is about a month or so old. everything was a transfer from a 55 so it was established. altho, i dont have much of a bioload. a firefish and a clown that doesnt eat, so that could be it too. the skimmer has been on there less than a week so i guess im being impaitent. i have fiddled with the levels, the one in the pic was way too wet, so ive dropped it and its been running like that for about a day. i guess ill just leave it and see what happens.
