Help with decision making.

I've been doing my due diligence with research and reading everything i possible can about setting up a new tank. I currently have the tank in place and in the process of building the sump and acquiring the different piece of equipment I will need. I have my live rock curing and will ready to fill the tank and begin the cycling process. My question to the forum is about stocking the tank. I understand how to stock, never double the amount of fish and wait a month or so and until water parameters are back to steady to add more. My question is what to add.

I have a 46 Gallon Bow Front:

The only fish I'm set on is a Clown fish pair, preferably a clarkii or tomato clown, after that I'm pretty open. Id also like to have a shrimp and gobby pair, but its not a necessity. So here is what i was thinking:

2 clarkiis
3 pajama cardinals
1 yellow tail damsel
1 neon damsel
2 fire fish
1 shrimp and gobby pair

Is this to much for this size tank? any all recommendations are welcome thank you.

I think if you stay on top of maintaining the water quality and have a good skimmer it shouldn't be a problem , and don't forget your water changes

If "Neon Damsel" refers to the Blue Velvet Damselfish (Paraglyphidodon oxyodon) I would dump it off the list - only the little juveniles are pretty, but they get big, ugly and very, very mean.

I would rather get another yellow tail damsel. If you start with small juveniles you will get a pair.

The firefish could have a problem to survive in a rather aggressive tank. Also 2 most likely only work if you get a pair.

I'm not sure you would see the firefish much, damsels and clarkis can both get pretty mean. If you do decide to get the firefish, get a single one and add it first. I'm not sure I would do the damsels, if so I would probably just do the one. I also haven't heard nice things about tomato clowns, everyone I have ever seen has to be kept completely alone because it kills everything. Clarkiis don't have a great reputation either but have never kept either species myself.

Thls.

Don't get a damsel in a tank that small. If you add it last, you could be ok for a while, but you will never be able to add another fish down the line. It will take ownership of the entire tank. And you're way better off with the more peaceful clown species. It's hard to envision violence when planning your stocking list, but listen to what everyone is saying, for your poor firefish's sake.
