I think I have marine velvet disease in my tank!
It's a 75 g reef tank with a 20g sump, Reef octopus skimmer and lots of love rock.
The tank is about 3 1/2 months past the cycle and I've been adding a fish or two every few weeks.
There are currently 2 clowns, a Midas blenny, a carpenters wrass, a purple fire fish and a orchid dotty back. I also have a cleaner shrimp in there.
The Midas blenny was the latest addition about a week and a half ago... Unfortunately I made the rookie mistake of not setting up a quarantine.
About 5 days after getting the blenny he had a few spots. I went to my lfs and he told me to wait it out and that if all my fish were healthy it could work itself out. Well a few days later the blenny looked fine, no more spots but the two clowns had a few small spots. Again I was advised to wait it out. Now all of my fish seem to be doing well except for the smaller clown who has no spots but has what appears to be a white slimy coat. It looks like peeling skin or something and his stomac is really bloated.
I believe it is time to act drastically and pull all my fish out to quarantine to begin a copper treatment. Can anyone provide some insight or confirm my fears?
Here are some photos of the clown:
