Help with fish stock list, 46G Bowfront

Hi, I've been out of the hobby a long time and starting up a new tank!
A lot has changed and I'm having trouble coming up with a stock list for this new tank.

Tank is 36" long
Full of live rock, roughly .75-1.5" of sand depending on where it is and how its been blown.

Planning on keeping mostly sps, currently have a Mag 5 return from sump, and 2 MPWES for circulation.

Filtration is via Bubble Magnus Curve 5, running GFO/Carbon in a reactor, and running Siporax in a Zeo reactor. Plan to slowly reduce the amount of GFO and replace with a Chaeto reactor.

Supplements are currently Seachem Fusion 2 part for adjusting levels and Kalk via dosing for maintenance. Planning to hook up CaRx reactor soon and reduce the kalk.

Tank inhabitants are 2 Clownfish, 1 Randal shrimp (+1 randall goby if I ever find one locally) 1 emerald, 3 nassarius and 1 astra snail.

Does anyone have any suggestions for tank mates? Everytime I think I've found one it seems incompatible with something. Was thinking of a Yellow Corris wrasse or something to help control pests just in case.

I'm not a huge fan of Bangai Cardinals or the standard firefish. Looking for something with colour! I miss my old larger tank with anthias and a yellow tang.

I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I just can't figure out the next fish. :deadhorse:

Yellow coris wrasse is a perfect fish (as long as we are talking about H. crysus). There are other relatives that are great as well: melanurus, vrolik's, yellow & purple

others to look at:

orchid dottyback (most other dottybacks can be quite aggressive).
flasher wrasses
royal grammas, chalk bass, or blackcap basslets

I'm very much in the same situation and Im planning the stocking for my 30 long 29 gallon tank. So far I have finalized a pair of clown and a cleaner shrimp.
But I saw some good feedback on royal grammas on the other forums.
Also I have Flame Angel on my list but a bit concerned about it nipping corals. I read its 50/50 chance and I'm willing to take that risk.
You can also look into the Coral Beaut Angel which is also 'Reef Safe-with Caution'.. Good Luck..

My flame angel does great in my mixed reef... As long as you supplement their diet with seaweed and/or nori on a clip, they will leave corals alone :) (no guarantee of course, but IME)

Do you guys think yellow or melanaris wrasses would be safe with the Randall shrimp and blood shrimp?

The coral beauty and flame angel are beautiful fish, however I am really worried about them nipping at corals.

I'm very interested in your post as I'm planning on moving y 10 gallon up to a 46 bowfront,I have the tank, stand, lights ,filter now I need power head s ,sand, and more rock,I have 2fish going from my 10 into my 46,a clownfish,a ywg,1 emerald, assortment of lips, and softies, but am also looking to add 1or 2more fish I'm thinking Panama cardinals,or I really want some kind of wrasse

A basslet such as a pair of chalk bass or a royal gramma would be relatively quiet and quite colorful

Saddled toby puffer.. they only reach a few inches total and are great fish to watch.

Funny you mention that, 15 years ago when I had my first reef I swore I was gonna add a FO tank to keep a Valenteni puffer and cowfish. However for this one it's going to be mostly sps, I do think think a puffer will work too well from what I've read.
