Help with Frag growout section design

Ok... so by going external with my pump, I have a 18x14 area I plan to setup as a frag growout station in my sump. I have a 150w MH setup I can put there, but I am thinking that might be overkill. This is for SPS corals, but I am thinking about selling the 150w ROIII w/Phoenix 14K and ARO ballast to go with a JBJ Viper 70w setup as it would have a little less heat (the location of my sump is under my stand) and less energy to run. It should also give me a little more room to maneuver in my sump. As reefmeister can probably attest to, I am pretty tight for space under my sump.

I am planning on running this at night off cycle with the display.

Will this be sufficient lighting?

Thanks,

Slavearm

PS- Yes this is a pretty blatant attempt to copy Greg's Sump Frag Tank that I was so amazed with.

stick with the 150 watt bulb and perhaps add a fan underneath to keep the air moving. i think for growing purposes the 150 will do the job and at a faster rate then a 70 watt. Yes coping gregs tank should work well it works for him very good although he uses an aqua c skimmer. i am still amazed to see his skimmer work so well, and most of those skim very little. any photos

I will throw something up today. Someone will comment how messy my sump is, and I will comment, "Here in my hand is $25 with your name on it to clean it up."

My tank is not as big as gregs. So I can't copy everything. I do copy as much as I can though, because his tank works, and he has been very kind to answer all my questions and help me with my corals.

it is kinda of funny when we run out of real estate underneath our tanks. buddies come over and look at it, hmm what is all of the stuff under there. my next tank will be 30" deep to help prevent this from happening again. my chiller, top off bucket are already outside the tank, and the euro reef skimmer rc model is a great skimmer but takes up a lot of good room.

Hhahaha yah the chiller is outside for me, and I am trying to find a matching piece of furniture I can sit on the other side to hide some more things in.

I am shooting for 48" on the next tank... then again that would be an in wall 96x48 heh heh... I think it is going to take me a couple of more years to convince the wifey of that one.
