I have a hammer ,huge, about 250 heads.Just overnight a streak about 3 heads wide and 20 heads long has lost all tissue.Have any of you experienced this.I ahve had this coral about 3 years ,all other corals look ok.
Thanks

you have any pics? is the tissue gone or just closed up? if it is just closed up you might have a jet stream (from a powerhead) pointed right at that area.

There actually is a korilla that blows across it but it has been that way for over a year. The tissue is gone not just closed up.

Interesting, any new additions to the tank recently? How are your parameters?

If you've had it for 3 years without much issue, I'd think that it might be something is bothering it after lights out, or it just is being fickle for a few days. I've had galaxia that would close up for a few days at a time, then come back out like nothing happened.

doesn't look gone to me...it looks ****ed......you can still see, from the picture at least that there small pink/brown tissue around the ring of each orbit is still there.....at least this is how it looks to me....unless you have seen brown jelly on it i say it's still with you just very angry for some reason......

Have you changed light bulb?
My whole hammer is shrunk like yours as yours after I changed my mh bulb from 15k to 12k. I am not sure whether it is the bulb or not but though.

Thanks for the replies. It is coming back....I have not changed anything and it is near fully open again.Took a little time but I am happy:cool:

i'd love to see it fully expanded. I don't think i've ever seen a hammer (or any other euphylia for that matter) that huge !

How big was it when you first bought it?
