Protopalys some people call them Texas trash or seafoam palys I think. If I were you I'd get rid of them.

Oh ok, I was wondering if they were a pest or anything....whats the best way to get rid of them? What problems do they cause?

I consider them a pest because they grow like weeds and they don't look nice. You can get a scalpel and remove them.

wear gloves and an eye shield and/or face shield. palys are toxic and they can shoot at you. I got squirted in the face last week by a zoa and had a numb area on my face for about a half hour...
look up paly toxin

:-) don't mean to scare you off. If you are aware of the potential, you can be careful and take precautions then you should be fine...

My thing is there are apparently intertwined in with the good zoas, I want, which I'm thinking will make it even more difficult to get them off without damaging the good zoas.

yeah, you could put that frag onto some frag disks or rubble rock and let the desirable zoas grow out onto the disk. Once they have grown out to the disk/rock, cut away the original piece. Keep an eye out for the trash palys growing out too though..
Or if you could get a insulin syringe or other fine gauge needle and syringe and inject the individual trash polyps with a small amount of vinegar that should melt them.
I use this to kill pulsing xenia all the time. I had a bit of xenia growing in between some keds red zoas, I injected the zoas unintentionally and it melted about a quarter size section of the zoas, they are growing back though..:)

Cmcoker, thanks for the advice! I think I will go that route and set up a rock next to it, also get a needle and use vinegar, any specific kind of vinegar?

just regular distilled white vinegar. Also remember they squirt as a defense mechanism, so still use protective gear
