Help with ID please

I've got this growing all over my LR. Can someone please ID it for me and let me know if it's good, bad or other. Sorry for the bad pics, I'll try to get better ones. The color is maroon and it pulls from the LR pretty easily in large patches. Feels like sponge and is spreading like wildfire. Thanks for all the help!

Looks like a red macro algae of sorts, try another pic with your macro setting on for focus

The macro setting in itself is a problem as the camera has been dropped and I cannot change any settings :mad2:

looks like red caulerpa, did you collect that rock locally?

It came from an established system that I helped a friend in the aquarium business break down. I'm not sure the origin of the rock. I would guess it was store bought as it came from a multi-million dollar house on the intracoastal in Ft Lauderdale and the owner certainly didn't look like he was into anything that had to do with diry hands!!!

the rocks on the beach in boca and deerfield beach have that type or macroalgae on them, thats why i asked. it looks pretty cool to me

Gotcha, never noticed it on the rocks at the beach. It looks good, just spreads like crazy!
