help with id please

I picked up this coral today...the LFS said it was an elk horn coral but I'm thinking not...it is smooth surfaced....It reminds me alot of pectinia, but it is not mottled in color like the others I've seen. It is brown and dark blue/ green. Anybody?

Could be a couple of things but looks like a Pectinia

Ya, I'd say pectinia, which has a common name of 'elkhorn coral'.

turns out it is a pectinia alcicornis. I had only seen the paeonia variety before.

Thats a great resource.

I only knew because I have one. Mine has a bit more green than yours. I am finding they like medium or less light to do the best. I have had mine for about 18 months now.
