help with ID

need help to id this one.. bought as "cypraea sp." but I want to know exact name because I heard that some of the cypraea snails eat soft corals and that they can poison the entire tank if they die. I dont want any of those things to happen...

Looks like Mauritia arabica, a species of cowrie.

You're going to need to get a picture of the back of the shell and of the bottom side with the animal retracted. Generally though, most cowries feed on sessile inverts, so they aren't really reef safe. None of them are likely to poison a tank though, unless you have a large tiger cowrie that just fouls the water.

Nice looking fellow, but he's going back to the store since he's not reef safe.

Im slightly ****ed off because the guy at the store said it was reef safe.. well, sh*t happens.
