Help with Lobophora varigata

I've been battling this algae for about a year.. its completely covered most of the rocks and starting on the glass.

i just added a 55gal sump to my 125g reef and put some cheato in the sump.

I've added 2 naso tangs.. but both are dead.. they don't last a week. I added the first one in and he developed a few patches of fungus.. then it went away in 3 days then he ended up dead.

second naso went in and was eatting up this algae. but 3 days later he started hiding then next day dead.

i have:

1 yellow tang
2 clowns
1 bangaii Cardinal
2 chromis
1 scotts wrasse
1 yellow wrasse
1 cleaner wrasse (new since last naso death)

i have
10 or so scalet reef crabs.
50 blue legs
25 snails.
1 huge serpent star (red).

i haven't tried a long spin urchin.

Im wondering if this algae is posioning the tangs? i know my yellow tang harrasses this fish.. but this lasts 2 days or so. then he bugs them only if he goes near him.

i see my yellow tang pick at this stuff. but doesn't do anything to it.

Im at the point of leaving the hobby. tearing it all down selling off everything. but i really don't want to..
my wife loves the tank. i want to save it. anyone out there that can help me this would be great!!

my phos is 0.
lighting is new.. 2 x 150DE reeflux 12k and 2x 110 VHO actinic.
i replaced my 2x 250w DE lights 10k XM's.

There is light at the end of the tunnel my friend. I battled buuble algae which grew everywhere, and clogged powerheads for a couple years. After adding a fuge with cheato and caulerpa the bubble algae is finally starting to recede, but it did take about 6 months for this to happen.

Not sure why your naso's might be dying. It could be harrassment by the YT. Do you QT them prior to adding them to your tank? This would help them get accustomed to you and strenthen them for the new environment. A hardier fish might be a Foxface Rabbitfish, but I cant say whether it would eat the Lobo or not. IMO tangs are easily stressed to the point of death more so than others. You may have to remove the YT.
