My GF bought a Mandarin for in our tank he did well for the first week or two and now seems to have something going on he has this white spot that has covered left gill. I do not have a picture right now but will try and get one all my levels read right and I have never seen this looks like he lost his color and I would like not to lose this fish........PLEASE HELP. I will post a picture tonight.

I'd really do some research on the needs of these fish; and don't let your GF buy fish anymore. (Any old guys like me remember Andy Sipowitz on NYPD Blue and his GF buying a fish?)

No I know the needs and we were doing fine until this white spot showed up. She does well on her picks and the tank is mature enough for one. Just not sure what this is that is on him and would like to try and save him if possible. this spot has just gotten the best of me I think I am going to pull him out and QT him and treat with some meds but wanted to get the input of people on here.

Sorry for the GF remark; it just reminded me of the old TV episode.
Can you get a pic? How's and what is this fish eating? Mandarins seldom do well long-term without a very large tank and mature LR to supply pods.

No not a problem didn't mean anything by the way I said it. no he is in a 90 gallon and their is 90 lbs of LR in there if not more and I have been putting pods in on a daily basis to make sure there was plenty of food in there for him. I will try and get one tonight I believe that he has passed my GF daughter came home and called saying it is not looking good. Really bites if he didn't make it but I will try and get a pic to atleast find out what it was to make sure I do not need to worry about my other fish with it.
