OK, I bought a maxima on saturday evenening. It was doing great through monday. I got home from work tuesday and it was layed over (I'm guessing that my naso knocked it over from picking at its shell.) It seems to have torn its foot off of its rock, and now is just about dead, or so it seems. What do I do now?!

livestock of fish:
bangaii cardinal
naso tang
yellow tang
sailfin tang
christmas wrasse
yellow goby
green goby
bicolor blenny
dusky jawfish
lamarks angel
square anthias
lawnmower blenny

These are all in a 210 in-wall with an 80gal sump/fuge under 3 - 400w12k reeflux lights with various corals. I have not posted pics because this site is not too friendly when it comes to post them. I will try again, but any insight as to what to do would be great.

Since I can not get the pics posted, I will tell you that the clam is still somewhat attached, but the mantle seems to have sucked itself all the way in and looks as if you can see almost right through it. It did not look like that the day before it fell over.

well the tangs picking at the shell is enough to stress the clam to death. Plus the angel and the blennies aren't clam safe.

So take a plastic pop bottle, cut it in half, fill it with 1/4" holes for circulation, then place it upside down over the clam. this should shield it from the fish. See how it does in the next few days. If it perks up then you either got to get rid of the clam or the fish. If not the fish will kill the clam.
