1. What is the best way to remove paint from acrylic while not damaging it? Can I use vinegar on the calcium deposits without damaging the acrylic? What kind of paint should I choose to re-paint it?

2. What is the best weldon to use to glue a piece of scrap acrylic over a hole in the acrylic? Any tips on doing this?

3. What is the best way, and what do I need, to buff out some minor scratches?

Thanks

1: if it's a fusion type paint there are no good ways to get it off without some damage to the acrylic. use Krylon Fusion to repaint it, the good thing is if you're repainting you'll hardly notice any minor scratching from removing the old.

2: if it's smooth and not overly large #3 or #4, if it's a larger area use the #3 or #4 and then #16 around the edges

3: MicroMesh kit.

Can I use some sort of solvent like paint thinner? It is just the back and bottom of a frag tank I am setting up.

i wouldn't if it's just a frag tank and you're painting it back, use 400g wet/dry sandpaper and it'll frost the acrylic but you won't notice it so much once painted.

dont paint the inside of the tank... paint the outside, unless the inside is already painted. I cant imagine why anyone would paint the inside of a tank though.
