I have had it for 3 months and it has been amazing. open during the day and night ate like crazy. I fed it mysid every three days. Four days ago it closed up and has not reopened. It almost did the other not but not quite then closed up again. I tried to feed it.
everything else is great

Tank -150 gallons
Nitrates 5 total nitrate
Nitrites 0

Any thoughts?

One more thing my Phos. was a little high so I added Phos lock two nights ago. I did not measure, had my LFS do it and they just said a little high but really not bad.

My water has never been "perfect" and i have never had a problem with my suncoral. My nitrates are always between 10-20. Have you tried to feed it anything else? Mine will usually open right up if I put a few drops of selcon and/or zoecon in the tank. Do you feed with a cup? if so, you may want to mix a little food and some zoecon and squirt some in. That should get him to open up hopefully.

Thanks, it is weird because they really were doing well, so I don't get it but things change fast in these tanks.

I get better polyp extension on my when I feed cyclopeze. It takes a variety of food (mysis, squid, brine) but seems to open fullest when I feed cyclopeze. Maybe try a varity of foods and see if you can coax it into opening.

Also when I 1st got mine it didn't open that much. I found feeding it out of the tank in a bowl of tank water worked well. I would leave it in the bowl for over an hour. I filled the bowl with a variety of food types and every 10 mins of so swirl the water around to get it suspended again. After a couple of times doing this it started opening well. So now I just target feed it in the tank.
