Help with new 125 gallon build

Simon, how do you glue or fix your corals to your rocks? I have a few that just keep falling. I've tried to glue one with glue i got from the LFS when i got the corals but it just hardens up right away when i put the coral in the water. I've been also trying to just wedge the plugs the frags came on into holes on the rocks. but some wont stay in there.

I like to use the loctite superglue gel. Puts some on the bottom and then when you go to place the frag run it around on wherever your putting it to break up the glue a little bit then just hold it in place for like 5-10 seconds for it to harden. For larger frags I would also use the marine epoxy and loctite. I'd put glue on the plug then the epoxy on the glue then glue on the epoxy. I found that just epoxy didnt set well enough so the glue held it in place long enough for the epoxy to set and harden

I use this epoxy putty that I found in Menards to attach plugs to the rock for about $5. It is concrete color but eventually the coraline algae would cover it. Don't use too much or on too many frags at a time or your skimmer will go crazy:fun5:

Hmm, i tried that although not with loctite super glue but with this Coralafix glue. I put some on then tried to get it to break up to affix, but it wouldn't budge. I'll see if i could try it again

What about on Corals themselves directly, would you put this on the bottom of them?

Update

I tested my CA levels last night, boy i don't know about the BRS reef calculator. I thought I was bringing the level up over the next 4 days but just one days dose brought my tant up to 466. I hope that didn't hurt anything. Alk is still around 8.3 - 8.5. Strange how my MAG levels are not rising.

I've never tried the coralafix before I've always used Loctite. I've tried a few different brands but the Loctite super glue gel is my favorite. The trick is not to try and break it up too much just a little bit to get it sticky then hold it in place until it sets

I've got some Loctite actually, i'll give it a try next time. Thanks.

I got it from a local wholesaler that my neighbor brought me to. He has some nice corals and fish and much cheaper than LFS

You are lucky to have a wholesaler closeby. All I have in Danville is a Pets Supply Plus with extremely small saltwater fish selections and no corals:(

Can anyone tell me from these pics how my corals are doing? its mostly the ones I got a week ago, my 2 new ones that are posted here are doing fine. Here are some pics of the ones from last week:

This one is from my neighboors house. He already had told me that some of the heads were dead, mostly on the bottom. How do the other ones look? Also there seems to be some type of yellow sponge growning inside of it.

These should be some SPS

The top one I think is a colored candy cane corals. There are a few dead branches there and the polyps are not inflated either. The coral is in disstress in the picture. This coral doesn't need high flow or very intense light.

Here is my metallic green candy cane or trumpet corals

The second picture is a tricolor recordea and the last one is a blastomussa.

Big difference on how yours looks Simon compared to mine. It was like this to begin with when my neighbor gave it to me. I'm wondering if its worth saving. What can I do for it? Its not really in a high flow area. I do notice my lawnmower blenny picking at it sometimes along with the foxface.
