Help with new set-up

Ok I just picked up my new tank last night and I need help. I got a 110RR(60x18x24) tank with dual overflows. It has a sump with bio balls and so on(basic old school system) and a dual metal halide fixture with 2 T-5 and either side. Not sure if any of this is really going to work with for my plans.

I am planning on a Full Reef that will be SPS dominate so I need to know what is the best way to approach this.

1. Lighting?
2. Filtration and Flow?
3. Protein skimmers. Need to get one. What is good out there now a days?
4. Ca Reactors? Dosing systems?
5. Chiller? Necessary or not?
6. Anything else I may be missing or not thinking of

Sorry for all the question but my last tank was a 300gal peninsula reef about 5yrs ago and I get out of the hobby after a total loss on that tank after a power outage and some equipment issues so I dont want to make the same mistakes as before.

Thank you in advance

Tom

1. How many watts are the MH and how good are the reflectors? The 60" length could make for some big shades.
2. Get rid of the bio balls, put in as big of a sump as you can with Chaeto sitting after the protein skimmer. Get some baffles in there using silicone, lots of instructions around here.
3. Look for something drawing around 1000+ gph of air with a good brand. It will probably be rated for a tank twice the size you have.
4. I have had good luck with Kalk, but everybody does their own thing.
5. Not necessary, simply a fan over the water in the sump, or the top, gets the tank 4 degrees cooler. SPS grows best in warm temperature anyway (84 degrees).
6. Get some battery driven air bubblers, they'll save you from a power outage(if you're home).
