Originally posted by checkinhawk if it were my tank id drill it all over the place and get some oms.maybe even get the wavebox too.
yeah i dont know if i would be able to make one anytime soon.my boss already thinks i do more work for tanks than for him lol.what about a DIY wavebox?
I think the control would be difficult but with the right controller it would work. Now I'm thinking I'm going to have to read up on the controllers some more, and see how they do the wave simulation.
how big of a tank is the wavebox going into? if its a 60 i wouldnt do it, too small of a tank to handle the abuse. Also a 150 would be able too but make sure you set your tank up properly for the wave box. but i think the wave box would be the best choice for a larger tank due to its low watt usage and its effectiveness. i dont know much about controllers so i wont comment on them. Also i learned most of my knowledge on wavebox's from John (FAOIS) and i would honestly go in and talk to him about it. He also sells them for a pretty good price too.
Checkinhawk, I got it but after seeing the pics and Mflamb busting my chops I'm not sure if I want to let it go. I did see that champion lighting had one on clearance for $40.
Gimp, This is for the 150..... I have talked to john and that was what started this hole dilemma, he does have a great price in it.
firefighter, I'm leaning toward the aquacontroller jr because it has more lighting functions and is a little less than the RK.
yes, john did recommend it, and i've done research to verify and he speaks the truth, i think, for a larger tank, the wave box will be the lower wattage and a very very very good efficiency level.
Not to highjack, but hows that mushroom doing gunter? the stub is just now showing signs of a new fully developed cap.
