I have a small maxima clam about 3inches. I have had it for a few month and was doing very good and has new growth. Last night I noticed that it is showing signs of pinched mantal disease. I read that this is fatal unless treated but can not find any info about how to treat it. Please help me save a beautiful clam.

do a search on the clamsdirect forums, there is a wealth of info there.
look up fw dip, removing gfo media, and please post a pic.

SG was a little high at 1.028 PH, was at 8.0, no amonia, no nitrites, nitrates at 30ppm, temp 80, calcium is at 430 ppm. I dont use any phisphate removers, my fuge does a good jod at keeping them down. Not sure why the nitrats where so high I have a 55g tank with 3 small fish and I only feed a small amount once a day. The clams was just moved from a 6g nano cube. It was doing great there while my 55g was cycling. I waited about a month to move the clam after the tank cycled. All other sps are doing great in the tank. Lighting is 2 150 watt HQI one 20k and one 14k(just till I get another 20k). Is it safe to coral dip a clam?

YES!!!!!! I think I saved my clam. I started out by moving it back into the nano cube, that didnt help. So after a day or two I just couldnt take it any more. So I did a 15 minute fresh water dip. The nest day the clam looks great. Fresh water dipping is great.
