I volunteerd to try to revive or stop it from getting worse..
I would like to know if anyone has had any good succes/sugestions on common practice to help this chalice.. The tank it was in was not prime conditions and i think atleast with the couple dips and the stableness of my tank should help..

Thanks in advanced

That's a really nice piece, hope you can save it and trade me a frag. Recommend you put it in a medium flow and moderate light setting. You could do some iodine dips (lugols or TMPCC is good). Dip at 1/2 strength for about 5 mintues. Make sure nothing can mess with it. Tangs and some other fish seem to be attracted to stressing lps, especially chalices. Try feeding it at night with the pumps off. Do it around the same time so the coral learns when to extend tentacles. Dose the tank and food with amino acids, vitamins, and garlic extract. Will help the coral to heal and grow.

nice chalice! sorry i cant help with yur question but i say that chalice should be called miami hurricane challice ;)

Hopefully this helps... Reef's Edge has a chalice just like that, and it's under their big metal halides, doing great. Might wanna stop in there and see how theirs looks to you.

I think I have the same chalice. Its really hardy and grows fairly well. Never dipped it. If its shaded or lower light the green comes out, under brighter light it turns all pink.

Sorry I cant give you advise, but I have quiet a few pieces in my tank that belong to my buddies. The corals were dying, but in my tank about 2 to 3 weeks I've brought back chalices, monti's, bubbles, acans, and Scolymia's. If you up by my way in Pembroke pines I'll try to save it for you. Or I can come down and pick it up. PM me I guess it really depends on the tank.

thanks guys imma try lugos and the tropic marine next if i dont see an emprovement in the next couple days..

I have great luck bringing corals back from poor health also just never really tried to bring a chalice back..

I might have to name this the soon to be Limited MR. UM chalice

Came across this old arse thread. Might as well show some updated pics. Here is some cell pics. doing ok under 400 MH with t5 actinic supplement. Kept lower half of tank with good random flow.
