Help with red/ orange monti cap

The other day I got some marine epoxy to secure corals. When putting it under the monti I had to press down on the top of it to secure it. I tried to be gentle but I think I messed up the tissue. There it a white spot ( half of a dime in size) right in the middle.

My question is, will it come back or get worse. I'm kinda new to sps corals.

Unless you really crushed it ,it should be ok. Might take a couple days to a couple weeks.

So long as the tank is growing SPS, it should heal right up. Worst case, you get a dead spot and it'll encrust back over that. Monti caps seem to be one of the tougher SPS

been there, done that before.

What I have learned to do is take a bit of the epoxy, and rub it until it sticks to on rock where i want it to go, and do the same on the bottom of coral in question. Then, when I do press the coral into position, the two sections of epoxy seem to adhere much easier without undue pressure on the "good part" of the coral.

Sincerely,

David
