hey all,

i want to put a reef filler pump in the garage...

my display tank is in the family room and the profilux is in the family room..

i did run a few pairs of medium gauge wires from the family room to the garage but would rather not put full house current through them..i think

how can i remotely actuate this pump and control from profilux ?? any ideas???

thanks

Larry

There is different ways to do this.

If I wanted to control high power pump remotely, I would use 120v relay and have one of the socket control the relay.
The relay location would be next to the pump.

Now your amps is much lower because your just supplying current to a relay, not a pump.
Use just need 120v source near your pump.

doesn't that still require the strip to be pugged into the pf3? the pf3 will be about 60-70 feet away from where this strip will be...

i guess i can send power over the wires...its barely any drawer... if i have to

how many wires does the cat 6 require for the pf3? i have either 6 or 8 wires run already..thought heavier gauge i could adapt... thats an option...

i have do have 8 wires...much heavier gauge..i could splice and solder to ethernet..i assume the heavier gauge wire wouldn't be detrimental??
