I recently bought a complete 75 reef tank. It had been set up for 5 years and I have moved it and set it up a week ago. All of my parameters are good (SG is 1.024: pH 8.2: ammonia 0: nitrate 0: nitrite 0: Ca 400 mg/l (ppm): KH/GH 12). My temp is 79°F and my lighting is 2 10000K PCs and 2 6500K actinic PCs. I want to upgrade the lighting, but I have to wait unitl I have more $$$$$$.

Anyway, almost all of my mushrooms are shrunk up and the Pulsing xenia is not pulsing after being in the tank for 3 days and I don't remember what the other coral is (the one that looks like a tree).

Can anyone tell me if there is anything that is not right or causing this condition?

BTW, these corals were fine in the tank before I moved them.

I would appreciate your help.

Thank you,

Steven

I like a good strong flow in my reef but I find that when I tone it down for part of the day, the mushrooms show much, much better extension. See if they're in flow that's too strong for their liking.

If the problem is flow, will they get used to it and extend, etc. as they should?

I am using 3 of these:

They say you get water flow but without the strong directional intensity that plain PHs give or even the one that I am using.

Has anyone used these before and do they work well?

They look pretty good to me, Did you check the tanks temp be for moving it to new location. Had a similar issue but mine was do to one tank was at certain temp and when i moved my corals to the new tank they went into shock till i was able to get the temp. back in the range they were used to.

I re-aquascaped my entire tank Mon 75 gallon and mine looked the same should be fine mine looked great late last night already.

That happened to me also when I upgraded my tank a few weeks ago. After a week or two they are starting to come back out again. They are still not at the size they were before the move.
