Help with skimmer pump

I just bought a GenX2400 NW for my skimmer. They sent the standard pump, but then sent the needlewheel and air intakes. I changed the impeller and have tried both air intakes. One is a venturi type that screws into the intake and the other is a straight line that presses in the inlet. The problem is neither setup will draw any air. What am I doing wrong.?

this is so dumb i hate to ask,have you got an air line to the intake?and is the pump actually pumping? please post solution when found as im thinking of that pump as well see ya

Figured it out!!! Yes the pump was running and I had a air line attached. The problem was a built in venturi in the inlet of the skimmer. It reduced to about 3/8 inch. It did a fair job with a normal pump but clogged easily. As soon as I removed the venturi, it started foaming like crazy.
