I have an Octopus 200. It is the standard with the old style pump. I have bored out the air inlet at the junction with the pump, but other than that it is standard.
I have real problems with this thing producing almost nothing for several days and then it just goes crazy and overflows (in sump luckily). Other than being completely annoying, if I don't empty it every day it all ends up back in the tank.
Any ideas of what is causing this or what I could do to improve its performance short of buying a new pump, which is a really good idea, since the standard pump is a total POS. By the way way numbskull engineer thought it would be a good idea to put a 90 degree angle in a venturi inlet?
