Help with snail ID

I've googled but just can't seem to confirm with certainty. I found this guy clinging to the underside of a rock in a tank with zero other snails for a couple years. I think it's predatory but looking for confirmation before I send him to meet the executioner. I'm breaking this tank down so he'd have to go into a reef tank with lots of happy friendly critters.

Not sure on an ID. But, maybe put a piece of shrimp or fish near it to see if it eats that. That won't tell you if it's predatory but might give an idea to its diet.

I'll check it out and report back, getting ready to feed anyway. I'm hoping it's a giant nassarius as I had some in there years ago. I've never seen them cling under a rock though, always seem to bury in the sand.

Man, it's not interested in mysis shrimp at all. Zero reaction to the mysis and it's scooting around a little here and there in the jar.

Does look whelk-like. Do you have any clams in your tank?
