Help with SPS color

I have seen great improvment since using Energy A&B

Fish poop is the same thing. Increase the fish and critter waste ( must be digested not rotting uneaten food) and you will see 10 times better results. Remember though, don't skim it all out. Kissman, how many fish do you have and how big are they.

It's two things, proper nutrient control and stability. If you control your nutrients by "properly" skimming (not to much) and not over feeding, and keep other variables like temp, salinity, elements/minerals, light cycles, water changes, and so on, you will see good results. Many reefers nowadays add all these "magic" snake oil's supplements in hope of some superhuman results. They don't work and I believe they only makes things worse. I learned with reeding, simple works best.

I agree the simple works best. I have the stability. My problem is my no3 is stable a zero and my corals don't like it. When I get them up just a bit I get better color and some growth....

I have 1 Royal Gramma maybe 2" long, 2 Green Chromis 1" each i guess, 1 Diamond Gobie 2", 1 Six Line Wrasse 1", Yellow Stripe Maroon Clown 3 3 1/2 maybe even 4" he is pretty big its really hard to tell so i am guessing at length.

I had a set back this week:
i went on vacation, and left my supplemental DIY led's setting pretty close to the waterline, around 3in awl. This would have been a non issue had I not set my ATO on a timer as a tripple fail safe, didn't want to flood the hardwoods (wife would probably castrate me while I slept). anyway the house heater went screwey and changed my evap rate more than enough to make up for the leeway I had built in on the timer. This made my return pump suck air/water and salt spray the crap out of my led's. I think the whole string is pretty much shot.

:headwalls:

Tested my PO4 tonight twice and it is at 29ppb or about .085ppm last night it was at 26ppb so against my better judgement i cranked the old HC GFO back up. The recommended dose at BRS is 6tbsp I am going to run it with 4 tbsp and re-test tomorrow. Other than that everything is the same. I am still thinking about adding 2 or 3 Green Chromis to give me 4-5 total to up nutrients. Haven't decided yet 9 fish in a 55g seems like a lot!

After suffering with this issue for a year thinking I had not enough nutrients or too much light I stopped vinegar dosing, added chaeto and lowered my lights. Stuff is rapidly coloring up and a few corals are showing rapid growth. In my case I think it was 100% lights.

About a year ago I changed out my cheapo MH hello light spider type reflectors (DE bulbs though) for lumenbrights. I also changed out my 90 gallon for 120 gallon tank (slightly taller). Everything I read said the lumenbrights were a huge upgrade. Everything said to raise them 14-16 inches above the water.

So when my corals became pale I assume I was blasting the corals with too much light but figured they would acclimate. What I didn't take into account was how low my rockwork was in the new tank. The answer for my tank is to run the lights significantly lower than recommended for that fixture. The bottom of my lumenbrights are probably 7 inches or so above the water rather than 14.

This may not be applicable to you as you have a decent fixture runing 6 T5s that seems good to me. Your rockwork seems to be roughly middle of the tank.

For what it is worth I run 2x250 Phoenix 14k over my tank.

Good luck

Everything looks the same. I did cut grass(xenia) in the tank again this past weekend. I think in order to rid the tank i think i am going to have to replace the rock. That will be at upgrade though hopefully end of year

Just ran 3 tests with my Hanna ULR 736 got 3 different readings lol! First time thats happened. Results were 40ppb, 50ppb, and 0ppb. Maybe the battery is going who knows. I do have the Red Sea Algae test kit and it tested .06-.07. On the card it has a greenish for .08 and it looked to be a shade lighter

I am starting to give up! One of the corals that were showing the most improvment will be gone by time i get home from work. This is realling starting to **** me off
