Help with Tunze Nano. Auto turn on

Set up new ATO system. Love the whole concept for the auto refill. I have the fresh water flowing into my sump tank. The set up is fine. Very simple to hook up.

However it looks like I may have an issue with the controller. I tested by moving my sensor above the waterline but the pump did not kick off. I unplugged and replugged the controller and it kicked on and as stated in the guide shut off after 1.5 mins.

This is a brand new unit. Any suggestions of why the auto turn on for the pump isn't kicking off

I don't follow. Is the pump not coming on or is it not turning off? It will turn itself off after 1.8 minutes and will not restart on its own, you have to reset the power. This is a safety if the float were to fail. This can be extended for 3 minutes and you must extend it for tanks from 26-55 gallons. This is covered on pages 26-27 of the manual. Past 55 gallons the nano osmolator is not suitable.

If the pump is not turning off either a magnet is affecting the float which is a magnetic switch. On thin glass (less than 1/4") a shim between the magnet and outer glass maybe needed and no other magnets should be near the float. The other probability is a siphon, specifically siphon situation3 when pumping to a sump.
