Im still trying to set up my 28g bowfront, however I cant seem to regulate my Ph. Ammonia, Nitrite & Nitrate all 0, but my Ph is up then down, then up again. I did a water change and it seem to help & I have been adding PH buffer, but that doesnt seem to regulate the PH. The PH happens to on the high side more than the low side. Iwould like a more stable and permanent (not to mention easier) solution to stablize the PH. I've already lost a lawnmower blenny to it and I'm afrain to lose my blue cheek goby.
Any help would great, thanks!!

Check your alkalinity. The higher your alkalinity, the less your pH will swing. Really the only way to counteract the pH swing is to run a refugium on a reverse light cycle... otherwise don't worry about it, there isn't much to do to fix it short of making sure your alk is in line.

pH is mostly stable and shouldn't just swing up or down very much in a short time. I would check your pH monitor. Maybe the probe is bad.

At night my pH is 7.9 but when the lights are on it is at 8.3

Bernie, Few thing I need to know to give you advice

How are you checking your PH test kit or meter?
are you checking at different times of the day?
What is the actual fluctuation?
are you dosing the tank, Calcium, Supplements, etc?
How long has the tank been set up?
What kind of sand and rock do you have?
