Help with Xenia not staying put!!

Just bought a pulsing xenia today. He looks healty, very open and pulsing but he won't attach himself to anything! He get's kicked around with water flow. What do I do??!

Attatch it. Either glue it down or put some netting over it to hold it in place on a rock until it attatches itself.

I have found that its very hard to get the glue to hold the xenia, the netting is probably the best way to go, or i have found that just wedging a rock or shell partailly on top works well also, i have tried using a rubberband or ziptie with not so good results as well.

What kind of netting and how exactly do you "net" it?

what happened when you used a rubberband?
I ask because i got a stalk that isn't attached to anything so i found where the stalk splits into 2 heads and put the rubberbanded that part to a small rock. Will this kill/not work?

The xenia is kinda stuck under/against a rock now. Will he attach by himself if he doesn't blow away?

I have the opposite problem, how do I humanely remove Xenia's from live rock I want to keep? I can always trade Xenia at the LFS but I hate to lose some of my nicely colored rock. Is there a way to cut them or scrape them off and not lose them? Appreciate any help.

I have attached Xenia unmounted frags by putting them in those breeder containers (the ones they sell for guppies/mollies) with rubble on the bottom. Just place the xenia in and they will attach to a peice of rock. Then just place that mounted frag wherever you want. If it is already next to a rock and the flow wont blow him away it will probably attach there.

CarlosR-I just scrape them off the rock and attack them to rubble like how I mentioned above. You might get it to grow back though if you don't remove all the flesh from the original rock.

He is definitely attached now. He looks all stretched out while the day lights are on, but looks super healthy when they go off....that normal?

Some people think they are weeds since if you have the right conditions will grow rapidly. Personaly, I like a large patch of pulsing xenias. If they go somewhere you dont want them to grow just scrap them off and keep it up. You xenia may be adjusting to your lights and tank. Got a picture of it?

We sure do and I think I've spotted a few new heads/polyps (what ever they are on a xenia) already in a just couple days! It seems to be really happy and I could see why some people call it a weed but it looks good in my opinion.
