If you don't scrub the rock it will grow back (I know because all the zenia grew back where I totally cut it out , but did not scrub). It will be a big job but it's better to do it sooner than later or you will have a xenia tank.
Higher than 83.5 degrees should eradicate it, take the temp there slowly and don't get over 85, go slowly back down after 24 hours, all the while agressivly skimming, running carbon and removing the bulk of the slime, chunks of xenia manually. Watch your LPS/SPS while doing this, may be best if you can move any sensitive corals to another tank for a week or two.

It peels off the rock fairly easily, and it will stay gone. It takes a while to get it all, but is better than messing with the temp or scrubbing rock.
