I had a Royal Gramma die in my 30 gallon reef a few weeks ago. I didn't think much of it until my Flame Angel died mysteriously 2 days ago also. i would notice the flame angel had little tiny white spots or particles on it at night days before it went. But during the daytime it would clear up. This may have been particles in the water settling on it while it was sleeping though. Any clues? Eyes were clear before the fish died.

Did the Gramma show any unusual signs? Were both fish feeding well? Did these "night spots" show up every night? Are sure the day lighting didn't just make the spots harder to see? Any skin sloughing or peeling? Do you have lots of MATURE LR? Flames will often go straight downhill without plenty of LR for grazing. What other fish do you have, are they eating & healthy? How long did you have each fish before they died? The more info, the better.

Other fish look healthy. I have an Anthias, Diamonback Goby and Maroon clown left. All the rest of the fish look healthy as far as I can see.

It sounds like ich. Feed well and get some garlic extreme. If the fish eat well and are not stressed they might be able to fight it. Good luck. Sorry for your loss.
